A six-monthly checkup and clean is one of the best ways to prevent tooth decay and gum disease. During your first visit, we’ll explain exactly what to expect, so that you can feel confident about the care you’re receiving.

Dental Exams and X-rays

Each new patient will receive a comprehensive evaluation of their teeth, gums, and overall oral tissues. An oral cancer screening is also included, in addition to a review of your medical history. Baseline X-rays will also be taken so that we can screen for concerns that are not visible during your exams, such as cavities or bone loss.

During your evaluation, we will also perform a periodontal check. This screening measures your attachment levels around each of your teeth, identifying areas of disease that might otherwise progress into tooth loss.

Professional Cleans

Depending on the health of your mouth, you may need a routine clean or a more detailed deep clean. We’ll explain our findings during your exam so that everything is easy to understand. Preventative cleans are typically performed the same day but a deep clean may be booked for a later appointment in some cases.

What If I Need Treatment?

After all of your data has been collected, we’ll assess what your smile needs, including the time required and the benefits available. Depending on the extent of your needs, we can discuss them at the time of your exam or have you return for a longer sit-down consultation to review all of the details involved. We take special steps to ensure you feel comfortable during your care experience.

Throughout your visit, you’ll notice mood lighting as well as soothing music to help you feel at ease, almost as if you were in a spa. We also have a ceiling-mounted monitor if you prefer to watch something to help distract you. The chairs in our treatment centre are also equipped with an embedded massage setting, making it the perfect place to wind down and relax.
